Akron experiences a continental climate with distinct seasonal changes. Winters are cold, with temperatures often below freezing, but can occasionally rise into the double digits. As spring approaches, temperatures gradually warm up, with April and May being the first months to see average highs above 10°C. Summer is warm to hot, with July and August being the warmest months, while September marks a return to slightly cooler temperatures. Autumn brings a moderation of the temperature, but can still be quite chilly in November and December, when winters start to set in again.
